Job description

At Guy F. Atkinson Construction (Atkinson Construction), many of our valued employees work in the field and are members of various labor unions. As a union contractor, we work through a referral process from local union halls for hiring all craft workers.

The Laborer roles (Apprentice, Journeyman, Foreman, and General Foreman) involve physical labor on construction sites, operating hand and/or power tools as needed, preparing sites, and assisting with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Group 1: Demolition, flagging, general construction, cleanup, or traffic control.
2. Group 2: Chute man or concrete curing.
3. Group 3: Compactor operation or pipelayer backup.
4. Group 4: Pipelayer or traffic lane closure (certified).

The Laborer Foreman supervises, coordinates, and schedules a crew of Laborers.
