Job summary

A leading rendering company in Hawaii is seeking individuals to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, driving forklifts, and cleaning equipment. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, have prior forklift experience, and the ability to lift heavy weights. Qualifications

  • Must have prior forklift experience preferred.
  • Must frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Previous experience in a production setting preferred.
  • Must be able to climb and not be afraid of heights.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 50 lb and occasionally 60 lb.
  • Less than 5% travel requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and move material within or near plant yard.
  • Drive forklift and tractor trailer within the plant yard.
  • Clean and sanitize cooking processing equipment.
  • Record proof of cleaning and sanitation.
  • Operate process equipment as instructed.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and move material within or near plant yard upon receipt of work order or oral instructions
  • Drive forklift, tractor trailer and skip loader within the plant yard
  • Clean/wash work area, machines or equipment throughout the plant
  • Shovel loose material into hoppers or trash hoppers
  • Remove trash from plant, locker room, lunchroom, parking lot and surrounding areas
  • Clean and sanitize cooking processing equipment (cookers, augers, process tanks, tankers, etc…)
  • Record proof of cleaning and sanitation
  • Paint equipment, as necessary
  • Operate process equipment as instructed
  • Must become knowledgeable of CMPAF (Cattle Material Prohibited in Animal Feed) and APPI (Animal Protein Producers Industry) Material Procedure and documentation
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Follow department and company procedures
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
  • Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior forklift experience preferred

  • Must be able to frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 60 pounds
  • Less than 5% travel requirement
Physical Demands/Requirements

Constantly (over 2/3):

  • Move and transport materials up to 50-100 lbs with or without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipment
  • Moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfacesMust be able to position self to perform duties around industrial equipment and materials that are hot or hazardous chemical materials

Frequently (1/3-2/3):

  • Exposed to work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Ascends/descends heights while maintaining balance
  • Utilizes tools and equipment such as a shovel to move material
  • Remains in a seated position while using multilimb coordination to operate forklift or other mechanical equipment

Occasionally (under 1/3):

  • Detect and observe conditions that need to be addressed such as equipment that needs to be painted or materials that need to be moved/removed
  • Electronically and manually completes logs/reports
  • Communicates with staff in the process of performing duties
