Job summary

Alaska Power & Telephone in Haines, Alaska, is seeking a motivated Laborer for the remainder of 2026 with potential to open in spring 2027. The role supports the line crew on the power side and involves hands-on tasks in a hard-working, outdoor environment.

Starting pay is $25.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and travel reimbursements; stock ownership and logo wear are also provided. This is a physically demanding, seasonal position.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by AP&T.
  • 1 year mechanical or electrical experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Brush cutting and weed trimming.
  • Oil changes and basic mechanical maintenance.
  • Supporting powerplant operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the crew lead.
  • This is a manual labor role that requires strong work ethic and a willingness to take on diverse tasks.

Laborer

The pay for this position is $25 per hour

AP&T is seeking a motivated and dependable laborer to join our team in Haines, Alaska. This is a seasonal position for the remainder of 2026, with the potential to open in the spring of 2027. This position will provide a variety of support to the line crew on thepower side.

Compensation/ Benefits for Full-Time Employment:
  • Starting pay: $25.00/hour (DOE)

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
