Under the general supervision of the Evap Mill and/or Rock Mill Supervisor(s), the Laborer performs various tasks including department housekeeping, working at different workstations, and training on machinery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle, stack, and palletize salt products manually
• Perform cleaning, sweeping, sanitizing, bin cleaning, unloading materials, supplying packing stations, and trash bailing
• Fill paper bags with salt, seal them, and palletize
• Operate forklifts to move products
• Assist higher classification workers
• Perform other general labor duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to lift heavy loads frequently
• Manual handling, stacking, and palletizing skills
• Maintain cleanliness in the work environment
• Proficient with mobile equipment operation
• Basic repair knowledge
• Experience with high-speed packaging and conveying machinery is a plus
• Ability to work safely with PPE and various shifts, including weekends

Physical Requirements:

• Flexible hours, including weekends and overtime
• Prolonged standing or sitting
• Manual activities involving lifting/moving up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders/stairs, working on elevated platforms
• Work in varied temperature and humidity conditions
• Capable of wearing PPE and accessing all plant areas
• Full range of motion required
