Job summary

Lykos Energy seeks a hands-on Construction Laborer to work with the crew on jobsites nationwide. You’ll assist with installation tasks, operate basic equipment, and help with material handling while upholding safety policies and quality standards.

You should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, follow directions, and communicate clearly with team members. This role may involve travel and per diem for relocation as projects require onsite support.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 6–12 months of related construction experience.
  • Equipment Operator certifications as required per equipment being operated.
  • Valid Driver's License; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work hands on with installation and assist crew members with physical tasks as required (i.e. loading reels, fueling equipment, threading equipment, etc).
  • Primarily focused on the physical aspects of installation process; operate hand tools, lift up to 50 lbs, load materials, hand-compact soil, and assist in installation of underground utilities.
  • Assist with threading equipment, handling, and placement of cables and/or conduit per project requirements.
  • Clean and prepare work locations to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Know equipment functions, operation, and driving; identify problems.
  • Gather and manage materials, consumables, and waste on site onto trucks.
  • Hand excavate trenches and manage native materials.
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities; communicate with operators/crew.
  • Communicate clearly, listen and understand information to ensure safety and duties are performed correctly.
  • Turn valves to control air and water output of compressors and pumps.
  • Perform maintenance such as cleaning, greasing, and oiling machines; fill daily reports.
  • All other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Foreman.

Position Scope

Responsible for working alongside other craft workers in physical labor on jobsites and potentiallyoperatingvarious typesof equipment whilemaintaininga clean,safeand efficient construction site and supporting the overall project.

Location & Travel:

This role offers nationwide opportunities based on project needs. In addition to your hourly pay,you’llreceive a daily per diem toassistwith living expenses while on assignment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to hand excavate trenches and remove, fill, or compact native materials
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads,providinghandor audio signalsto operators/crew members.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly,listenand understand information through spoken words and sentences to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response.
  • Turn valves to control air and water output of compressors and pumps.
  • Perform maintenance duties such as cleaning,greasingand oilingmachines,maintenance reports filled out daily.
  • Allother duties as assigned by Superintendent or Foreman.
Education and Work Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and six to twelve months of related experience in constructionor equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Equipment Operator certifications asrequiredper equipment beingoperated.
  • ValidDriversLicense
  • CDL Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working towards safety principles.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's, ability to perform these operations using units, weightmeasurementand volume.
  • Ability to understand units of force, pressure and torque and applyappropriate toolingadjustments for each.
  • Commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructionsfurnishedin written or oral form.
  • Be able to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards.
  • Working knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in structural fills, DOT, and other public and private entities.
  • Workers should be able to work within precise standards of accuracy; follow set procedures and standards, judgedistancesand slopes accurately; and make decisions based on verifiable standards.
