Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Field Technician to support meter reading, inspections, and installation duties across assigned routes in Florida. You will use meters, ERTs, and pipeline locating tools to ensure reliable service and compliance while maintaining accurate work records.

• Valid driver's license required (NON CDL).
• Ability to read meters and operate basic tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Works assigned route to complete customer and compliance orders per procedures.
• Conducts regular meter inspections and maintains gas systems above and below ground.
• Uses pipeline locating equipment and hand tools for tasks.
• Installs Encoder Receiver Transmitters (ERT) and collects data as assigned.
• Identifies abnormal conditions and takes appropriate action.
• Documents work orders accurately using company technology.
• Overtime may be required.
• Reads meters and performs other related duties.

What you’ll be working on…

• Works assigned route to complete customer and compliance orders in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures
• Conducts regular meter inspections and maintenance of above and below ground gassystems
• Completes assigned tasks using pipeline locating equipment and appropriate hand tools
• Installs Encoder Receiver Transmitters (ERT) and performs collection duties as assigned
• Identifies abnormal operating conditions, takes appropriate actions, and performs miscellaneous inspections as required
• Captures work order documentation on the company-provided technology accurately
• Required to work overtime as needed
• Reads Meters
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
