Job summary

The National Association of Women in Construction is seeking workers for on-site labor roles in Dallas to perform a variety of tasks on construction projects, often in a utility capacity, switching between duties as demand requires. You will work without close supervision and contribute to site readiness.

Duties include signaling operators, leveling earth, applying coatings, operating small equipment, and mixing and placing concrete.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience
• Physical and drug screen required
• Must be able to lift at least 80 pounds
• Must have clear background
• Must be 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Paving Crews, Earthwork crews, Underground crews on construction projects, usually in utility capacity
• Drive stakes and stretch tight line; signal operators of equipment to align, move and adjust machinery
• Level earth to fine grade specifications with hand tools; spray materials to clean, coat or seal surfaces
• Operate small machinery such as water pumps, portable generators, or portable sprayers
• Mixes, pours, and spreads concrete using hand tools; may be common laborer, utility laborer, grader, vibrator operator, form setter helper or concrete finisher helper

Performs any combination of following duties on construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require worker with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision: drive stakes, and stretch tight line. Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications. Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel. Sprays materials such as water, sand, paint, concrete curing compound, or oil through hose to clean, coat, or seal surfaces. Operate small machinery such as water pumps, portable electric generators, or portable sprayers. Mixes, pours, and spreads concrete using hand tools.May be designated common laborer, utility laborer, fine grader, concrete-vibrator operator, form setter helper or concrete finisher helper.
