Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group is hiring General Laborers for a Terxy outdoor concrete fabrication and shipping environment in Conroe, TX. You will finish and patch concrete, operate hand tools and power tools, and assist with rebar, plates, and anchors alongside a safety-minded team.

Typical hours are 6:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays. Starting pay is $14.50 per hour, with experience considered for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction/outdoor environments.
• Able to follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• 1–2 years construction experience.
• 1–2 years landscaping experience.
• 1–2 years manufacturing precast concrete (preferred).
• Concrete finishing: 1 year (preferred).
• Teamwork environment.
• 36-ton forklift operator.
• Safety-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with finishing and patching of concrete products.
• Operate tools and equipment for finishing tasks.
• Assist with installation of plates, rebar, wire, insulation, lifters, reveals, and anchors.
• Tie rebar, grind, and buff surfaces; patch concrete pipes.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and report safety concerns.
• Perform pre-shift forklift inspections and operate forklift safely.
• Adhere to attendance policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Thompson Pipe Group is now looking for General Laborers who will assist with assigned responsibilities such as finishing, patching, building cages, and or operating equipment. Excellent opportunity for those Precast Concrete Pipe Manufacturing experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Lifts and carries materials and tools throughout work areas using appropriate equipment.
• Completing final finish on a poured concrete product, using power tools and hand tools
• Use hand tools such as the hammer, sledgehammer, wrench, pliers to accomplish daily tasks.
• Assist with the install of plates, rebar, and wire, insulation, lifters, reveals, and anchors.
• Also assist with tying rebar, grinding, buffing.
• Taping and cutting strand, cleaning Burks, bagging in blackouts, finish exposed sides
• Patch Concrete Pipes- blending structural concrete, working with many different raw materials.
• Finish product in an attractive manner free of cracks and imperfections
• Removing rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, and patches holes with fresh concrete
• May be required to use a pressure washer and/or sandblasting equipment
• Maintains neat and orderly work areas at all times.
• Cleaning Yard and picking up trash.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of Safety Team/ Supervisor.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.
• Reports any problems or discrepancies to management.
• Perform pre-operation inspections on an assigned forklift to ensure it is in safe operating condition, report at once any safety concerns or operational issues with the forklift.
• Must work within the attendance policy guidelines.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience

• Experience working in a construction or outside environment is highly preferred.
• Must be able to follow instructions both verbally and in writing
• Ability to use hand tools.
• 1 -2 years-Construction Experience
• 1-2 Years- Landscaping Experience
• 1-2 Years- Manufacturing Precast Concrete(Preferred)
• Concrete Finishing: 1 year (Preferred)
• Pouring and finishing concrete in forms
• Teamwork environment
• 36-ton Forklift Operator- load and unload concrete pipe from flatbed trucks
• Must have a safety-first attitude

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Able to work in dust and outside environment conditions(i.e rain, wind)
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Standing, walking, and stooping throughout the shift.
• Ability to keep up with manufacturing requirements.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Use to wearing earplugs and other PPE – such as a hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves and safety glasses as required.
• The work environment is not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.

Work Hours

• Monday-Friday Occasionally Saturdays(Holidays are off)
• 6:00am-4:30pm( 10 hours to 12 hour shifts)

Pay Starts at $14.50 but we take exp into consideration
