Job summary

Bluethread Services invites applicants for a Roofing Helper position at its Concord, CA area to assist with roofing installations and repairs on commercial structures. You will help unload equipment and carry materials up ladders, ensuring a clean, safe work site under supervisor direction.

Responsibilities include assisting with various roof types, aligning materials, removing shingles, prepping roofs, installing gutters, locating leaks, and performing related tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of commercial roofing experience or interest.
• Experience with SP (EPDM, TPO, PVC), BUR, foam, shingle, tile and metal roofing systems preferred.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program preferred.
• Valid driver's license and eligibility to work in the U.S.

• Loaded shingles on roof by using a truck or manually packing them up a ladder.

Salary: $24.00 - $30.00 Hourly

Position responsible for assisting in the installation or repair of roofs on commercial structures. The role includes assisting in equipment unloading, carrying tools or roofing materials up a ladder to the work site on the roof, and ensuring the work site is clean from debris. The contractor works as part of a team under the direction of a supervisor or foreman. Critical job duties include working safely and according to company safety procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation and repair of different roof types.
• Align roof material and apply alternate layers of hot asphalt or tar.
• Remove roofing shingles with tools and equipment.
• Prep work for the new roof to be installed.
• Carry bundles of shingles and other roofing materials up ladders.
• Provide assistance with metal fabrication for metal roofing.
• Help install residential gutters and downspouts.
• Locate leaks and apply patches for repair.
• Repair broken shingles and apply sealing compounds to affected areas.
• Inspect roofing tiles, composition, and slate shingles.

• Drivers – Operated company truck to and from job site.
• Worked on over 30 roofs of all different kinds of pitch and materials used while roofing.
• Maintained a perfect safety record during employment duration.
• Clean roof surface before applying roofing materials.
• Additional duties as required by supervisor, foreman or journeyman.
• Ability to work on uneven surfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience with SP (EPDM, TPO, PVC), BUR, foam, shingle, tile and metal roofing systems preferred.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program preferred.

Physical Requirements

Regular use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
