• One year of general labor experience required.
• Maritime general labor experience or prior military service preferred.

• Pump tanks and bilges, and install and connect pumps and hoses.

Skills

Ability to demonstrate proper connection, assembly, operation of equipment

What You'll Be Doing:

Perform general shipboard maintenance under the supervision of the Ship Maintenance Supervisor or assigned manager. Tasks include tying up vessels, cleaning piers, vessel/craft decks, hulls, holds, compartments, engine rooms, magazines, bilges, and tanks. You will perform vessel preservation, prepare surfaces using chipping hammers, scrapers, power tools, and cleaning machines, then apply preservation coatings with brushes and rollers. Sealing compounds are applied using hands or caulking tools. You will also pump tanks and bilges, and install and connect pumps and hoses.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

• One year of general labor experience
• Ability to demonstrate proper connection, assembly, adjustment, and operation of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment within 90 days of hire
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and ability to follow written or verbal instructions
• Ability to properly and securely manage waste to prevent pollution and harm to health

Preferred:

• One year of maritime general labor experience or prior military service
