Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Laborer within the Environmental Dredging and Restoration Group Engineering Section at the Masonville Dredged Material Containment Facility. Responsibilities include janitorial functions, small repairs and maintenance, general landscaping, chemical management, operation of hand tools, gas-powered mowers, and trimmers, and operating other small equipment. Additionally, this position may be required to independently complete job-related errands including driving to pick up parts, tools, and supplies. Please note a majority of the work includes outdoor field work in all weather conditions. This position will be based at the Masonville Dredged Material Containment Facility and the Masonville Cove Urban Wildlife Refuge in Baltimore, MD. Minimum Requirements: Graduation from a standard high school or GED or completion of 8th grade plus one (1) year of warehouse, production, building maintenance, janitorial or other general work experience. A valid driver’s license with less than five points is preferred. Must be able to pass standard physical exam, lift up to 50 lbs., and have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and follow oral and written instructions. Persons appointed to this position may be required to work overtime during weekends, evenings, and holidays. Maryland Environmental Service is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
