Xilis, Inc. is an innovation-driven biotech company developing proprietary MicroOrganoSphere (MOS) Technology for functional precision oncology. Our MOS Technology enables rapid, scalable generation of patient tumor models that retain patient-specific tumor biology and microenvironment, making it highly relevant for ex vivo precision oncology drug discovery and development. Located in Research Triangle Park, Durham, NC, we are building a platform that combines multi-modal profiling and AI/ML analytics to advance functional precision medicine, therapeutics development, and diagnostics. Our goal is to develop effective therapeutics and personalize treatment for patients.

Role

The candidate will perform patient specimen testing following SOPs and CLIA guidelines, helping streamline laboratory processes. Responsibilities include cell and tissue culture, microscopy, imaging, and operating critical lab equipment. The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Laboratory Operations, the candidate will contribute to a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Schedule

• Tues-Sat, flexible schedule

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of clinical and biological sample testing.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and cleaning.
• Assist with SOP improvements.
• Collaborate with assay development, operations, and quality teams to develop QA/QC protocols.
• Identify and document QC or processing issues.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Suggest performance improvements.
• Support team tasks as needed.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, or related field.
• 2+ years (5+ for senior level) of lab experience, preferably in CLIA diagnostic testing.
• Hands-on experience in sample processing, cell culture, and automation.
• Experience with 3D cell culture and flow cytometry preferred.
• Strong communication skills and cross-functional experience.
• Commitment, integrity, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
• Interest in high-growth startup environment preferred.
