Job summary

California Water Service Group (Cal Water) invites you to join its Commerce, CA laboratory as a Laboratory Technician. Under guidance, you will assist with shipping/receiving, data entry, routine analyses, glassware prep, and sample kit handling, while keeping a clean lab environment.

You will work with LIMS, PeopleSoft, and Excel, and may assist chemists or microbiologists in basic analyses. Training and CI involvement are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or similar field with one year of lab experience.
• AA in Chemistry or Biology related field with two years of lab experience.
• One year of experience as a Laboratory Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Print sample labels, COCs, and sampling instruction sheets.
• Review scheduled sample lists, prepare and ship sample kits accordingly.
• Ship and receive sample coolers; log samples into LIMS.
• Work with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), PeopleSoft and Excel.
• Perform standard QA/QC measures; sign and date forms, log books, etc.
• Prepare standard chemical solutions, reagents, and/or bacteriological media.

Education

Bachelor's degree in microbiology/biology/chemistry with 1 year of lab experience

AA in Chemistry or Biology with two years of lab experience

Laboratory Assistant experience (1 year)
