Arts & Science is seeking a talented Laboratory Technician to join the Department of Physics. This individual will operate specialized equipment to construct laboratory experiments demonstrating physical laws of nature. Recommend revisions to laboratory experiments for review and approval by others. Assist with laboratory experiments, as required. Perform tests to ensure that lab equipment is operating to standards. Install and configure hardware and software. Monitor instructional space, equipment storages, and repair shop facilities to ensure that standards are met and report any deviations.
Due to the hours of operation, the full-time work hours will vary between the hours of 7:00am to 9:00pm Monday through Thursdays, and between the hours of 8:00am to 7:30pm Fridays. The work schedule will change on a semester basis and be confirmed with the supervisor in advance.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $39.143. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
