Job summary

Claryx in New York is hiring a Laboratory Technician to run our molecular workflow, including nucleic acid extraction, qPCR panels, and library prep for sequencing. This hands-on role supports the Laboratory Lead to keep the workflow reliable as sample volume grows.

You’ll work fully onsite in Long Island City with weekly travel to partner sites around New York City, and you’ll be trained to advance toward assay development and team leadership as the lab scales.

Qualifications

• Must have strong fundamentals in molecular biology and careful technique for sample handling.
• Solid documentation practices and ELN/LIMS discipline are essential.
• Experience with qPCR and sample processing is preferred but training is available.

Responsibilities

• Accession and extract nucleic acids from environmental samples and isolates.
• Run qPCR/RT-qPCR panels and prepare libraries for sequencing.
• Operate an automated liquid handling system and assist with manual steps.
• Arrange and conduct field collection of samples from partner hospitals with proper chain of custody.
• Maintain inventory, prep reagents, and keep ELN/LIMS records up to date.
• Identify workflow improvements and test modifications.
