Job summary

Akron Rubber Development Laboratory (ARDL) is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Mixing & Molding Department. This on-site role supports lab-scale mixing, polymer handling, and collaborative work with other technicians at our Barberton facility.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and either lab experience or a strong interest in rubber/material testing. A safety-minded, energetic team player is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with lab experience preferred.
• Experience in a rubber testing environment is a plus.
• Ability to work in a polymer-focused lab and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Performs lab work as assigned by Supervisory Personnel.
• Responsible for lab-scale mixing in the department.
• Work well in a group environment and collaborate with technicians.
• Maintain attention to detail in all lab procedures.
• Lift up to 50 pounds on occasion as needed.
• Contribute to a positive and energetic team culture.

Laboratory Technician - Mixing & Molding Department

Akron Rubber Development Laboratory (ARDL), an industry-leading independent testing laboratory specializing in rubber, plastic, and latex materials, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Mixing & Molding Department.

Location

• On-site at 75 Robinson Ave., Barberton, OH 44203

Schedule

• Full-time

Key Responsibilities & Capabilities

• Performs lab work as assigned from Supervisory Personnel
• Responsible for lab-scale mixing
• Hand-on Experience with Polymers
• Work well in a group environment
• Works closely with other technicians

• Help cultivates a positive work environment
• Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds on occasion.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with milling, curing black and colored rubber
• Experience running a rheometer/viscometer and compounding

Education / Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent work experience in a testing lab/rubber industry.
