Job summary

Twining, Inc., an innovative engineering, testing, and inspection company with over a century of history, seeks a Laboratory Technician for its Long Beach facility. Responsibilities include testing soils, concrete, asphalt, and steel, and entering data accurately.

The role requires basic math, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Evenings, nights, and weekends may be required to support operations. Benefits include medical, dental, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Experience in concrete, soils, steel and rebar testing helpful.
• 1+ years previous experience working with construction materials helpful.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Ability to work well as both a team player and individual self-starter.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times daily.
• Basic computer skills, specifically experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills.
• Solid communication skills.
• Clean DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Performing various types of soils, concrete, asphalt, steel preparation and testing.
• Obtaining in-house training on machine safety and test method proficiency.
• Enter samples into our software accurately.
• Creating new work order numbers and entering testing data and billing items.
• Computer data entry.
• Assistance in other departments in the laboratory as needed.
• Assist with pickups and deliveries as needed to support business operations.
• Must be available to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed to support business operations.
