Job summary

Twining, Inc. is looking for a Laboratory Technician at our Long Beach facility. You will perform soils, concrete, asphalt, and steel testing and enter data into our lab software. May create new work orders and assist with billing entries.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lb, work evenings or weekends, and support other lab departments. Prior experience with construction materials is preferred.

• 1+ years experience in testing construction materials.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Twining, Inc., an innovative engineering, testing, and inspection Company with 120 years of history, is seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Long Beach facility.

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Performing various types of soils, concrete, asphalt, steel preparation and testing.
• Obtaining in-house training on machine safety and test method proficiency.
• Enter samples into our software accurately.
• Creating new work order numbers and entering testing data and billing items.
• Assistance in other departments in the laboratory as needed.
• Assist with pickups and deliveries as needed to support business operations.
• Must be available to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed to support business operations.

Requirements:

• Experience in concrete, soils, steel and rebar testing helpful.
• 1+ years previous experience working with construction materials helpful.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Ability to work well as both a team player and individual self-starter.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times daily.
• Basic computer skills, specifically experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills.
• Clean DMV record.
