Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) is hiring an entry-level Laboratory Technician I in Edison, NJ. You will support laboratory operations through routine sample handling, preparation, and documentation in a quality-driven environment.

The role targets candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and basic chemistry exposure. The 12:00pm–8:30pm shift offers a 5% differential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Performing sample preparation including aliquoting, spikes, and digestions.
• Learning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Preparing water and soil samples for metals analysis; handling digestions with acids.
• Washing glassware and stocking supplies; maintaining housekeeping and safety.

Job Description

The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Performing sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:
• Aliquot samples
• Spike and trace samples
• Prepare reagents
• Bottle samples
• Prepare concentrations
• Separation
• Sonication
• Preparing water andsoil samples for metals analysis.
• Performing digestions with concentrated acids
• Learning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System
• Learning the Mercury Analysis

• Liquid rack set up
• Resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
• Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
• Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
• Stocking laboratory supplies.
• Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assisting other laboratory areas as needed.

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Comfortable with a fast-paced time sensitive laboratory work
• Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts
• Ability to useTALS (Laboratory Information Management System)
• Ability to complete work within time and quality constraints
• Can work independently following written or verbal instructions
• Cooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing

Full-time entry level positionMon-Fri schedule 12:00pm- 8:30pmCandidates living within a commutable distance of Edison, NJ are encouraged to apply. Compensation $17.50 plus eligible for benefits

This is an entry level position, those looking to gain experience in a laboratory setting without a 4 year degree encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice.
