Job summary

SOKOL GxP Services is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support daily lab operations in Critical Reagent and Raw Material labs. You will manage inventory, handle samples, and ensure materials are ready for QC testing according to schedules.

The role requires 1–3 years in lab operations or related fields, familiarity with cGMP/GDP environments, and strong documentation skills. On-site, full-time contract with 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years in lab operations, manufacturing, inventory, or sample management.
  • Associate/Medical Technical degree with 2–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, GDP, and FDA-regulated environments; EHS expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized inventory and perform cycle counts.
  • Stock and reconcile materials; manage sample receipt and movement.
  • Pack-out samples and materials; ensure accurate labeling and packaging.
  • Clean and organize lab; document in accordance with cGMP and GDP.
  • Retrieve materials from refrigerators/freezers/LN2; prepare for shipment.
  • Complete SAP transactions and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Support lab/EHS walkthroughs, housekeeping, audit readiness, and general operations.

Job description

The Laboratory Technician will support daily operations in the Critical Reagent and Raw Material laboratories by maintaining inventory, managing samples, supporting pack-out activities, and ensuring materials are available for QC testing according to established schedules.

Responsibilities include inventory organization and cycle counts, material stocking and reconciliation, sample receipt and movement, pack-out of samples and materials, laboratory cleaning and organization, and accurate documentation in accordance with cGMP and GDP requirements.

A significant part of the role involves retrieving required materials from refrigerators, freezers, or LN2 storage, preparing materials for shipment according to the applicable PO and packaging requirements, completing related SAP transactions, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The technician will also support laboratory and EHS walkthroughs, housekeeping, audit readiness, and general laboratory operations.

Position details:

  • Hourly rate: $24.62–$31.27;
  • Contract length: 12 months with possible extension;
  • Location: Summit - Summit, NJ;
  • Work arrangement: 100% onsite;
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, normal business hours;
  • Maximum hours: 40 hours per week;
  • W-2 contract position;
  • No C2C options;
  • No visa sponsorship.

Required:

  • High school diploma/GED with 1–3 years of laboratory operations, manufacturing, inventory, or sample management experience; OR Associate/Medical Technical degree with 2–3 years of relevant experience;
  • General understanding of cGMP, GDP, FDA-regulated environments, and EHS expectations;
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform accurate counts, reconciliations, and documentation reviews;
  • Ability to follow SOPs, safety procedures, gowning requirements, and material-handling instructions in a regulated laboratory setting;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn site-specific systems used for inventory, sample tracking, and documentation;
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory, sample, cleaning, and walkthrough records;
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills to support multiple laboratory activities, priorities, and deadlines;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including timely escalation of safety, inventory, sample, or compliance concerns;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with QC, ASAT, EHS, and cross-functional partners;
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, housekeeping, and inspection readiness;
  • Ability to lift, move, organize, and handle laboratory materials and supplies within site safety requirements;
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Experience with inventory control, sample handling, material movement, pack-out, or laboratory-support activities;

  • SAP ERP system experience;

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, medical technology, or a related scientific discipline.
