Job summary

System One is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our onsite team in Ashland, VA. The role supports routine lab tasks, sample preparation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance during Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm. Bachelor’s in chemistry and 1–3 years’ experience are required, with metals/ICP/GC instrumentation experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry is required.
• 1–3 years of experience in labs or related settings.
• Industry experience with metals or instrumentation preferred (ICP/GC).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices and programs
• Prepares samples using standard techniques
• Performs chemical analysis using standard techniques
• Calculates data
• Records and reports data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
• Performs routine instrument maintenance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s required – chemistry
• Industry experience with metals, ICP, GC, or other instrumentation, or research projects/internships involving metals/GC/instrumentation
• 1-3 years of experience
