Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Laboratory Technician III to perform microbiology lab testing in a fast-paced GMP environment supporting environmental monitoring, raw materials, in-process and final product testing.

Responsibilities include following proper safety and GMP procedures, maintaining records, and assisting investigations while ensuring timely completion of tasks with minimal errors.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required in a scientific field; chemistry, microbiology or biology preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred and certifications maintained as needed.

Purpose

The Laboratory Technician III performs laboratory testing in the microbiology lab within a fast paced GMP environment in support of one or more of the following areas; environmental monitoring, raw materials, in-process product, and final product. Analyzes test data and evaluates results. Writes procedures with guidance. Works under the guidance of a supervisor but is able to manage time efficiently in achieving timely completion of assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs test methods as written to support product/material release.
• Understands and maintains a safe work environment for themselves and others in accordance with procedural requirements.
• Understands, implements and maintains GMP with respect to laboratory records, procedures and systems in accordance with procedural requirements.
• Will perform environmental monitoring with required equipment and within required frequency.
• Accepts responsibility to complete assigned tasks as committed. Works with others to maintain a positive atmosphere to accomplish business objectives.
• Revises procedures as necessary and provides support for department.
• Support investigations
• Will effectively perform a multitude of laboratory techniques for which they are trained on with minimal error.

Qualifications

• At minimum, Associate’s Degree required, preferably in a Scientific field (Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Maintains their certifications as needed for assigned job tasks.

A1 Shift:5:45 AM- 6:00 PM Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday
