Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Laboratory Technician III for night shift in Texas. You will perform microbiology-related testing in GMP environments supporting environmental monitoring, raw materials, in-process and final product areas.

Work is guided by supervisors, with emphasis on timely completion and data accuracy. Responsibilities include executing validated test methods, maintaining GMP-compliant records, and supporting investigations while upholding safety standards and teamwork in a fast-paced lab

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in a science field with less than 2 years relevant experience, or HS diploma with 2+ years in pharma/biologics manufacturing, QA, QC or R&D.
• Maintains certifications as needed for assigned tasks.

Job Description

Purpose

The Laboratory Technician III performs laboratory testing in the microbiology lab within a fast paced GMP environment in support of one or more of the following areas; environmental monitoring, raw materials, in-process product, and final product. Analyzes test data and evaluates results. Writes procedures with guidance. Works under the guidance of a supervisor but is able to manage time efficiently in achieving timely completion of assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs test methods as written to support product/material release.
• Understands and maintains a safe work environment for themselves and others in accordance with procedural requirements.
• Understands, implements and maintains GMP with respect to laboratory records, procedures and systems in accordance with procedural requirements.
• Will perform environmental monitoring with required equipment and within required frequency.
• Accepts responsibility to complete assigned tasks as committed. Works with others to maintain a positive atmosphere to accomplish business objectives.
• Revises procedures as necessary and provides support for department.
• Support investigations
• Will effectively perform a multitude of laboratory techniques for which they are trained on with minimal error.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Biology or equivalent science degree with <2 years pertinent experience or High School Diploma with 2+ years combined experience in Manufacturing, QA, QC, R&D in pharmaceutical or biologics industry.
• Maintains their certifications as needed for assigned job tasks.

**This is a Night Shift position. Hours: 5:45pm-6am
