Job summary

AbbVie in the pharmaceutical laboratory is seeking a dedicated Analytical Chemist to perform chemical tests on raw materials and finished products in accordance with established procedures, AbbVie policies, FDA regulations, and cGMP guidelines.

You will document results accurately and support maintenance and standardization of laboratory equipment, while contributing to project implementations and test-method transfers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Natural Sciences with major in Chemistry.
• Minimum of two years experience in the pharmaceutical industry or analytical laboratory.
• Experience with raw materials and finished products: wet chemistry, assay, content uniformity and impurity test.
• Knowledge and abilities in managing analytical instruments.
• Availability: Tuesday to Saturday shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical tests following established procedures.
• Document the results of tests and analyses accurately.
• Perform preventive maintenance and standardize laboratory equipment.
• Participate in implementation of special projects and test method transfers.
• Resolve typical technical problems with minimal intervention by senior staff.
• Update procedures or create new as required.

Purpose:

Performs chemical tests following the established procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing laboratory analytical tests to the raw materials and finished products following the established parameters(AbbVie policies, FDA, cGMP) and applicable regulations without impact to the manufacturing cycle or the laboratory work flow.
• Document the results of the tests and analysis performed accurately.
• Perform preventive maintenance and standardize the laboratory equipment.
• Participate in the implementation of special projects and test method transfers.
• Resolve typical technical problems with minimum intervention of the scientist or others.
• Perform changes to existence procedures or create new as required.
• Actively participate in training of new employees.
• Responsible for the coordination and distribution of tasks when required.
• Prepare presentations as required.

Qualifications
