Job summary

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) in Reno, Nevada, is seeking a Laboratory Technician 2 for the Physical Sciences department. Under supervision, you will perform a full range of lab duties, maintain the prep laboratory, support faculty, and ensure safety.

Supervisory responsibilities may include lower level staff and students. Preferred qualifications include a science Bachelor’s degree, management experience in a science lab, and formal lab safety training.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from high school or equivalent and 3 years in a lab setting with tests and equipment maintenance.
• One year as Laboratory Technician I in Nevada State service or equivalent.
• Equivalents in education and experience may satisfy qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare physical science laboratories and maintain the science prep lab.
• Provide faculty support and enforce laboratory safety protocols.
• Supervise lower level technicians, volunteers, or students as assigned.
