Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for supporting laboratory operations, performing maintenance functions and completing non-technical routine laboratory tests and procedures under the direction of professional staff.
This is the career level where incumbents are fully qualified to perform a variety of routine laboratory tests and procedures using standard testing procedures and assists more experienced personnel in performing more complex testing procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of the maintenance of routine records and reports; and of elementary laboratory techniques and safety precautions.
Ability is required to perform basic laboratory tasks; to keep specimens properly marked; to maintain adequate written laboratory records; and to utilize a computer.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of one year of experience in laboratory work performing laboratory procedures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one college-level laboratory science course for each six months of the required experience.
A current certification in good standing as a Phlebotomist is required.
This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work.
