Job summary

Belcan Corporation is seeking an Laboratory Technician II in Monroeville, PA to perform routine laboratory operations under direct supervision. You will prepare samples, run measurements, and conduct several tests according to standard procedures, with opportunities for advancement.

The role is entry-level with a high school diploma required; some chemistry coursework and experience with safe practices, chemical handling, and record keeping are desirable. Training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, performs routine laboratory operations in QA or research.
• Prepare samples, measure, and perform routine qualitative and quantitative tests per standard procedures.
• Assist higher level technicians in setup and data recording for experiments.
• Operate and maintain instruments; perform routine safety checks and preventive maintenance.

Job Description:

• Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance or research setting.
• Duties consist of preparing samples, making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analytical tests according to standard procedures.
• Assists higher level technicians in setup of laboratory equipment and in recording data for experiments and procedures.
• Requires knowledge in using various instruments to prepare for and perform tests.
• Performs routine and safety program checks and preventive maintenance on instruments.
• This is an entry-level position.
• Requires a high school education or equivalent.
• Prior experience is desired with examples of safe practices, chemical handling, and record keeping/reporting.
• Some chemistry courses are desired.
• Knowledge of Microsoft office software is desired.
