Job summary

ASRT, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician I in Atlanta, GA to support non-research biological work in the Specimen Triage and Tracking Laboratory. You will handle media orders, SOP documentation, and equipment maintenance while adhering to SOPs and quality systems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in life sciences and 2–5 years of related experience, with strong English written and oral communication skills. U.S. citizenship or residency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry or related life sciences.
• 2–5 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience with SOPs across molecular and microbiology techniques.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint for memos/reports.
• Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Responsibilities

• Performs non-research biological science work across public health areas.
• Process and formulate reagent and media orders, including plates and dyes.
• Order glassware, chemicals, and equipment for media orders.
• Create and maintain documentation and SOPs.
• Maintain equipment, clean lab areas, and dispose biohazard waste.
• Document temperature ranges for freezers/refrigerators and lab gear.
