Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a part-time/PRN phlebotomy technician for day shifts at IU Health Jay, Blackford, and Upland facilities with occasional travel to Muncie. The role supports 24/7 lab services and requires accurate specimen handling and customer-focused service.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, registration, and entry of patient data, while delivering reliable, compassionate care in a busy laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program with related lab coursework preferred.
• Valid Indiana Operator’s license and good driving history may be required.
• Ability to understand traffic laws and regulations is a plus.
• Working knowledge of computers and basic data entry is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy collection, specimen labeling and documentation.
• Register patients and ensure accurate order entry and specimen tracking.
• Deliver specimens to the laboratory and maintain chain-of-custody where applicable.
• Provide courteous, professional patient interactions and maintain confidentiality.
