Job summary

Indiana University Health Jay, Blackford and Upland facilities seek a phlebotomist to join the laboratories. You will collect specimens, assist with specimen processing, and help with clerical tasks in a fast-paced patient-focused environment.

Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma or GED, completed phlebotomy training, and solid computer and telephone skills. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team with travel to nearby sites as needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program is preferred.
• Valid Indiana operator's license and a good driving history may be required.
• Working knowledge of computers is required.
• Telephone skills and clear communication are essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team are essential.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide general laboratory services including specimen collection and order entry.
• Prepare blood components and perform pre-analytic processing.
• Handle patient and specimen registration and delivery of specimens.
• Perform related clerical tasks as needed.
