Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Cinnaminson, NJ is seeking a Laboratory Technician I (Chemistry) to support analysts by preparing samples for analysis and learning technical skills through on‑the‑job training.

No prior laboratory experience is required beyond a willingness to learn and follow safety and procedural guidelines. You will assist with sample preparation, operate basic instruments, and perform routine calculations while adhering to SOPs and quality control standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong ability to work in fast-paced setting, multi-task and prioritize.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Basic computer skills required (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis and support laboratory analysts.
• Operate and maintain basic analytical equipment and instruments.
• Perform pipetting, volumetric measurements and use analytical balances.
• Record data, perform calculations and conversions, and ensure data accuracy.
• Handle common laboratory reagents safely following procedures.
• Follow SOPs and QC procedures for analytical methods.

Job Details: Job Location: Cinnaminson, NJ 08077, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $18.00 - $18.00 Hourly, EMSL is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician I (Chemistry) in Cinnaminson, NJ. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-job training will be provided for all new employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of matrices: air, dust, food, soil, solid, and/or water
• Operate and maintain basic analytical equipment and instruments
• Able to perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, volumetric measurements and the utilization of analytical balances
• Perform basic calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtained
• Be comfortable in a laboratory setting involving the handling of common laboratory reagents, such as acids, bases, and organic solvents
• Perform all chemical handling safely following laboratory procedures
• Understand and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality control procedures established for each analytical method

Qualifications: Requirements:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments
• Work independently and with a team
• Concise, organized, and meticulous regarding work assignments
• Knowledge of basic computer skills such Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is required

Available Shift:

Position is full time, Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
