Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for solution preparation, product testing, and instrument calibration/ maintenance. The Laboratory Technician I is also responsible for compositing raw materials, finished goods, and additional samples, as assigned. This position requires fluency in basic testing and laboratory requirements.
Two openings with one each for the following schedules:
1st Shift: Monday through Friday 8:00AM- 4:30PM
2nd Shift: Monday through Friday: 3:00PM - 11:30PM
5% Shift Differential for 2nd Shift
Major Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for solution preparation required for analysis.
- Performs analytical testing on samples, including but not limited to, Raw Material, Finished Goods, Impurity, and Stability samples.
- Responsible for compositing raw materials, finished goods, stability, and additional samples, as assigned.
- Responsible for instrument calibrations and maintenance, and routine laboratory preventative maintenance.
- Documents all data in corresponding laboratory notebook or other appropriate laboratory documentation in accordance with GMP and Documentation Entry and Error requirements.
- Responsible for analysis waste disposal and standard/reagent disposal in accordance with the appropriate Standard Operating Procedure and SDS information.
- Responsible for analysis pertaining to customer complaints, discrepancies, & laboratory investigations and OOS checklists.
- Reports necessary results to manufacturing and Laboratory Management, in a timely manner
- Participates in department projects, as prescribed
- Maintains a basic understanding of laboratory workflow, paperwork, and sample management.
- Has the ability to package materials for outside testing, as required.
- Strives to complete daily assigned work with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Life Science, Biology or a related field, an educational equivalent or approved and documented equivalent experience.
- Copy of transcript and degree required.
- Has a general understanding of chemistry, Minimum 90 Day GLP and cGMP experience.
- Knowledge of/coursework taken in analytical chemistry.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, reach, climb ladder, sit or stand throughout shift.
- Must be able to distinguish color and color change.
- Knowledge of all products at BioSpectra.
