Job summary

Origin Mining Company, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Mineral Park Mine to perform chemical and metallurgical analyses supporting lab operations. The role requires handling sensitive equipment, adhering to quality standards, and contributing to daily lab activities.

The technician will test samples, maintain instrumentation, manage reagents and inventory, assist plant operators, and ensure safety and environmental compliance on a rotating, 24/7 schedule at the mine site.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of math, chemistry, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills and documentation accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and commitment to safe work practices.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analysis testing and operate laboratory equipment.
• Collect samples from multiple sites and prepare them for analysis using appropriate techniques.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Order supplies, track reagent consumption, and manage inventory of critical lab parts and chemicals.
• Support plant operators as needed and provide technical assistance to staff and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards, including MSHA requirements, and participate in the review and update of laboratory safety procedures.
• Manage laboratory cleanup and routine reagent preparation as directed.
• Identify materials and equipment needed to maintain continuous operation.
• Assist with the analysis of blast hole samples for copper and molybdenum determination.

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting a variety of chemical and metallurgical analytical procedures to support lab operations. This role involves handling sensitive laboratory equipment, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and effectively managing daily activities to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine analysis testing and operate laboratory equipment.
• Collect samples from multiple sites and prepare them for analysis using appropriate techniques.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Order supplies, track reagent consumption, and manage inventory of critical lab parts and chemicals.
