Job summary

BostonGene Corporation is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to handle pre-analytical accessioning, processing, and inventory maintenance of clinical blood samples in a CLIA/CAP-compliant environment. The role supports downstream clinical and research operations while ensuring patient sample integrity and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include sample accessioning, data entry in LIMS, inventory control, and coordination for specimen packaging or return to pathology labs and researchers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological or Life Sciences required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant laboratory experience in a CLIA/CAP-accredited lab.
  • Experience handling patient biospecimens, including blood, plasma, tissue biopsies, and saliva.

Position Summary

The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for pre-analytical accessioning, processing, and maintaining inventory of clinical blood samples in accordance with established laboratory procedures.

This role ensures the integrity of patient samples, supports downstream users in clinical and research operations, and maintains compliance with laboratory quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Accession and process samples following standard laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and tracking of all samples.
  • Use Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to enter and manage sample data.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of samples in the inventory database.
  • Assist in the packaging and return of specimens to pathology labs, physicians, or research labs.
Quality Control & Compliance:
  • Adhere to laboratory quality control policies, ensuring documentation of all quality activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance.
  • Identify and address any issues affecting sample integrity, test performance, or result reporting.
  • Follow established protocols for handling test systems that do not meet acceptable performance standards.
  • Support investigations and documentation of incidents, non-conformances, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
Operational Support:
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies.
  • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
  • Provide samples to clinical operations and R&D teams to support ongoing research and diagnostic efforts.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological or Life Sciences required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant laboratory experience in a CLIA/CAP-accredited lab.
  • Experience handling patient biospecimens, including blood, plasma, tissue biopsies, and saliva.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with LIMS and electronic inventory tracking systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations.
