Inova Health System's Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Technician Assistant 2 for the Part-time Evening Shift (2:00pm–11:30pm), Monday–Friday with every other weekend. Days vary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory environment or as a phlebotomist (1 year preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensures accurate specimen processing to maintain specimen integrity and verify components.
• Manages specimen accessioning accurately and efficiently for laboratory testing and proper labeling.
• Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others to optimize performance and relationships.
• Oversees 24-hour urine container preparation/receipt per facility policy.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Laboratory Technician Assistant 2 to join the team! This role will be Part-time Evening Shift: Monday-Friday, Every Other Weekend (2:00pm-11:30pm). Days Vary.

Laboratory Technician Assistant 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Ensures accurate specimen processing to maintain specimen integrity and verify product and/or test components when processing.

• Manages specimen accessioning accurately and efficiently to provide quality specimens for Laboratory testing and performs proper specimen collection by confirming patient identification, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques and accurately labeling the specimens to ensure accurate patient results.

• Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.

• Responsible for 24-hour urine container preparation/receipt (i.e. verifies collection technique, total volume and correct preservative as per facility policy).

• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:High School diploma or GED equivalent.

• Experience: 1 Laboratory experience in a clinical laboratory environment or as a phlebotomist
