Job summary

Washington State University’s Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory seeks a Laboratory Technician 1 to perform routine lab procedures in the Sample Receiving section, triaging and routing samples for testing, entering data into the LIMS, and maintaining equipment. This full-time role supports laboratory operations under general supervision.

Candidates should have ASCP-lab assistant certification or two years of relevant lab experience, be eligible for work in a BSL-2 environment, and

Qualifications

• Completion of ASCP-approved course for laboratory assistants OR two years of chemical, clinical, or public health lab experience.
• Training in medical technology or college courses in laboratory sciences may be substituted year for year for experience.
• Physical eligibility required for working in a BSL-2 environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory procedures and triage, examine, prepare, and route samples for testing.
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System and operate/maintain laboratory equipment.
• Interact with WADDL clients, faculty, residents, and laboratory personnel to provide exceptional customer service.
