Overview

Lab Technician – Engineering Support | Round Rock, TX

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Lab Technician to join a growing engineering team supporting the development of innovative heat transfer products in the IT space. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on lab work and wants to contribute to testing, validation, and product development.

• 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Pay Range: $25.00 – $35.00/hr (DOE)

Responsibilities

• Conduct thermal testing and analysis of prototypes (temperature, airflow, heat transfer).
• Set up, operate, and maintain thermal testing equipment (thermocouples, data systems, chambers).
• Perform soldering (through-hole & surface mount) and build wiring harnesses.
• Assist with IT lab setup (hardware, software, network).
• Collect & analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings.
• Maintain, calibrate, and organize lab equipment.
• Ensure compliance with lab safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent lab experience.
• 2+ years in thermal testing, analysis, or lab work.
• Familiarity with thermal tools (thermocouples, thermal cameras, data loggers).
• Knowledge of heat transfer principles.
• Skilled in data analysis software (Excel, MATLAB, or similar).
• Strong troubleshooting & communication skills.

Preferred

Experience with environmental chambers & thermal simulation software.
