Job summary

Didion, Inc. in Markesan is seeking a full-time temporary Laboratory Technician to support quality, safety and documentation through the first week of December, with potential extension based on business needs.

This role provides training, a chance to gain hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment, and opportunities to learn Didion's testing methods while ensuring product quality. You will perform routine tests, inspect products, document results, and help with GMP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Testing finished product blends accurately and efficiently.
• Reviewing and verifying production paperwork.
• Conducting food safety and pre-operational inspections.
• Performing quality checks on bag seals, code markings, weights, metal detector and X-Ray verification, magnets and screen checks.
• Entering laboratory results into Didion's document control system.
• Reviewing production and regulatory records.
• Supporting GMP, food safety, sanitation, and safety compliance efforts.
• Communicating quality or food safety concerns to leadership.
• Assisting with training of new or backup quality team members as needed.

Didion is seeking a full-time temporary Laboratory Technician to join our team in Markesan through at least the first week of December, with an evaluation for continued employment after that time based on business needs and performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make additional income during the holiday season while gaining valuable experience in a food manufacturing and quality environment. Previous laboratory experience is helpful, but we are willing to train a motivated individual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

What You'll Do

As a Laboratory Technician, you'll play an important role in ensuring product quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction by performing routine testing, inspections, and documentation.

Responsibilities include:

• Testing finished product blends accurately and efficiently
• Reviewing and verifying production paperwork
• Conducting food safety and pre-operational inspections
• Performing quality checks on:
  • Bag seals
  • Code markings
  • Product weights
  • Metal detector and X-Ray verification
  • Magnet and screen checks
• Entering laboratory results into Didion's document control system
• Reviewing production and regulatory records
• Supporting GMP, food safety, sanitation, and safety compliance efforts
• Communicating quality or food safety concerns to leadership
• Assisting with training of new or backup quality team members as needed

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Manufacturing, food production, quality assurance, or laboratory experience is preferred but not required
