Job summary

CED Analytical Labs, a Medisca Partner, seeks a Laboratory Technician to support multiple lab functions with a focus on accuracy and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and fluency in English, capable of following established procedures and contributing to a safety-conscious environment.

The role emphasizes precise handling of chemicals, daily equipment calibration, inventory management, and adherence to protocols in a fast-paced analytical testing setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in an analytical testing environment.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation such as pH meter and balances.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow established protocols, procedures, and safety guidelines in laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, label and safely store chemicals and reagents in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform daily verification/calibration of equipment such as pH meter, balances, and Karl Fischer.
  • Ensure lab supplies are sufficiently stocked and within expiry.
  • Perform weekly chemical inventory on all reference standards and reagents.
  • Maintain and review equipment logs for accuracy and completion.
  • Complete daily glassware cleaning and contribute to the cleanliness of the laboratory and workspaces.
  • Prepare simple mobile phases and test when requested.
  • Perform basic chemistry testing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for providing assistance to various functions of the laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in laboratory procedures and techniques, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and accuracy in work.

  • 1- 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an analytical testing environment.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation such as pH meter and balances.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work, with a commitment to quality and precision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to follow established protocols, procedures, and safety guidelines in laboratory operations.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude in all aspects of work.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset, willing to learn from others, and able to work effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols, hazardous materials handling, and waste management practices.
