Job summary

CED Analytical Labs, a Medisca Partner, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support analytical testing operations. The role emphasizes accurate sample handling, calibration of equipment, and adherence to quality standards in a fast-paced lab environment.

The successful candidate will have a biology/chemistry background, 1–2 years of lab experience, and strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork, with fluency in English and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field; relevant lab experience may substitute.
  • 1–2 years in a laboratory setting, preferably analytical testing.
  • Knowledge of lab equipment such as pH meters and balances.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong organization and time management; able to work independently.
  • Follow protocols, procedures, and safety guidelines in lab operations.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Integrity, professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Team player; willing to learn and collaborate.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, hazardous materials handling, and waste management.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, label and safely store chemicals and reagents in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform daily verification/calibration of equipment such as pH meter, balances, and Karl Fischer.
  • Ensure lab supplies are sufficiently stocked and within expiry.
  • Perform weekly chemical inventory on all reference standards and reagents.
  • Maintain and review equipment logs for accuracy and completion.
  • Complete daily glassware cleaning and contribute to the cleanliness of the laboratory and workspaces.
  • Prepare simple mobile phases and test when requested.
  • Perform basic chemistry testing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for providing assistance to various functions of the laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in laboratory procedures and techniques, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and accuracy in work.
