Job summary

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Chester, PA to monitor and sample the continuous production process for precipitated silica. The role includes testing, evaluation, and release of finished products to support shipping schedules.

The candidate will perform lab duties, calibrate equipment, and maintain data files while adhering to GMP, ISO-9000, and food safety procedures. Team collaboration and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a science-related field required.
• MS Excel and MS Access proficiency required.
• Ability to update and maintain analytical data files accurately.
• Strong judgment to interpret test results and take corrective actions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of chemical production processes to evaluate results and determine adjustments.
• Experience maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment and managing lab supplies.
• Understanding of physical and instrumental testing methods used to verify product specifications.
• Experience with SAP and basic statistical knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform all laboratory duties safely and support the plant safety program.
• Sample and test the continuous production process; make adjustments to maintain product quality.
• Conduct testing during product changeovers to prevent cross-contamination.
• Perform finished-product testing and release results to support shipping schedules.
• Maintain notebooks and electronic data files for accurate data retrieval.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment for reliable results.
• Communicate with Production Operators to support product quality and process needs.
• Perform environmental and utility testing to meet permit and compliance requirements.
• Assist with training new laboratory technicians.
• Perform statistical evaluations and apply process-control methods as applicable.
• Follow ISO-9000 procedures and documentation requirements.
• Adhere to GMP and Food Safety procedures.

Job description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Chester, PA . In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the sampling, testing, and monitoring of the continuous process of manufacturing precipitated silica. The testing, evaluation, and release of the finished product are also included in these responsibilities.

Rate: $21/hr + PTO & Holiday Pay

Schedule: TBD ( Monday to Friday , 5:30 am to 2 pm - once trained, they would rotate onto weekends, one Saturday/Sunday , typically 2 weekends a month)

Responsibilities

• Perform finished - product testing and release results promptly to support shipping schedules.
• Maintain organized notebooks and electronic data files for accurate data retrieval.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure reliable results.
• Communicate regularly with Production Operators to support product quality and process needs.
• Conduct required environmental and utility testing to meet permit and compliance requirements.
• Assist with training new laboratory technicians.
• Perform statistical evaluations and apply process - control methods as applicable.
• Follow all ISO - 9000 procedures and documentation requirements.
• Adhere to GMP and Food Safety procedures.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a science - related field (Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred).
• Basic computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Access.
• Ability to accurately update and maintain analytical data files.
• Strong judgment to interpret test results and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of chemical production processes to evaluate results and determine necessary adjustments.
• Experience maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment and managing lab supplies.
