Job summary

Tech Observer in Atlanta is seeking a lab technician to support laboratory operations through maintenance of storage areas, equipment, and supplies, in line with QA programs and SOPs.

You will retrieve samples, prepare them for analysis, record results, and keep logs, with attention to accuracy and ability to work independently.

Strong verbal and written communication, and basic data analysis, are expected to document findings and ensure proper labeling.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Basic knowledge of the information and techniques for lab testing.
• Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Perform sample preparation including aliquot samples, spike and trace samples, prepare reagents, bottle samples, prepare concentrations, separation, sonication, liquid rack setup. Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
• Prepare general lab paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and lab logbooks.
• Wash lab glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.

The main function of a lab technician is to support laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. The typical lab technician is expected to use general lab methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures.

Job Responsibilities:
