Job summary

Randstad USA in Ankeny, IA seeks a Grain Quality Analyst for a high-throughput lab project. The role focuses on receiving, labeling, preparing samples and performing ISO-guided analytics. This 4-month, first-shift contract runs 7:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday–Friday.

Requires a bachelor's in a scientific/engineering field and at least three years of related experience; direct equivalents considered. Candidates will work in a team, using GC, NIR, LIMS and other analytics tools to deliver accurate results

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology or a related field.
  • At least three years of related industry experience; directly applicable experience may substitute for degree.
  • Experience with ISO work instructions and analytical labs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, identify, and prepare samples, ensuring correct labeling and appropriate analytics are requested.
  • Prepare and analyze samples according to ISO work instructions; ensure data integrity and collaborate with multi-discipline team.

This is a high through-put laboratory that will allow you to expand your skills in an industry environment.

Educational Requirements

Responsibilities

In this Grain Quality Analyst role you will receive, identify, and prepare samples – ensuring incoming samples are labeled correctly, appropriate analytics have been requested. You will prep and analyze samples according to ISO work instructions.

This is a high throughput lab environment. You must obtain and ensure analytical data integrity and able to function in multi-discipline team, delivering laboratory results in an efficient manner.

Desired hands-on experience with: total combustion analysis, elemental analysis, calorimetry, Gas Chromatography (GC), NIR Spectroscopy, NMR, total oil analysis, colorimetry, falling number, farinograph, mixograph, bench-top wet chemical analyses, and LIMS
