Job summary

RiceTec, Inc. in Alvin, Texas, is seeking a detail-oriented laboratory technician to perform milling, grinding, weighing, and sample preparation for grain quality tests.

You will prepare buffers, maintain GMP-compliant practices, and operate automated lab equipment. You will monitor quality assurance parameters, document sample flow, troubleshoot processes, and support a team that values precision and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences preferred but not required.
• Ability to diagnose problems utilizing a variety of tools including inquiries, observations, system schematics and documentation, software tools, and communications/electrical diagnostic tools
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Milling, grinding, weighing, and preparing samples for grain quality tests.
• Prepare buffers and aliquots according to GMP guidelines.
• Monitor QA parameters and take corrective actions.
• Operate liquid handling and automated lab equipment.
• Document sample flow and troubleshoot processes.
• Adhere to established practices with precision and efficiency.

Job description

• Perform milling, grinding, weighing, and preparation of samples for further grain quality tests.
• Prepare chemical buffers and aliquots according to GMP guidelines
• Monitor quality assurance parameters and take corrective action when required
• Maintain and operate liquid handlers and automated lab equipment.
• Laboratory processes and instrumentation with the ability to troubleshoot technical problems
• Document sample flow. Troubleshoot processes where necessary
• Strong background with structured repetitive work
• Other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to established practices with precision and efficiency

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Life Sciences background (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required)
• Ability to diagnose problems utilizing a variety of tools including inquiries, observations, system schematics and documentation, software tools, and communications/electrical diagnostic tools
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
