Posting Summary: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory/Tech Asst - Seasonal for the Department of Materials Science and Engineering within the School of Engineering.

• Conducts laboratory activities in polymer composite laboratory.
• Formulates and process polymer matrix composites.
• Tests composites for structural properties.
• Characterizes composites using DSC and polymer physics, electrical and EM radiation evaluation, and imaging to reveal morphology of the composites.

Salary Details: $20 - $25 per hour

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in materials science and engineering or a related scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Certifications/Licenses:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in materials characterization, including SEM and X-ray diffraction.
• Knowledge and experience in plastics and immiscible. polymer processing.
• Familiarity with polymer extruder, injection molding, DSC, SEM, and XRD.
• Ability to assess and analyze data.
