Job summary

Three Saints Bay, LLC seeks a Laboratory Support Technician in Jamaica, NY to support government contracting operations. The role focuses on lab safety, adherence to procedures, and proper handling of materials, equipment, and samples.

Responsibilities include preparing media, sterilizing glassware, operating autoclaves, and performing routine equipment checks. Candidates must meet background requirements and have at least 6 months in a lab or similar setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of lab or similar work experience.
• Ability to lift 25-30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• OSHA 10-hour General Industry certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of assignment.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and Public Trust background check.
• Ability to follow written procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory quality, safety, and standard operating procedures.
• Handle laboratory materials, equipment, and samples safely, including heavy, refrigerated, or special handling materials.
• Weigh, mix, adjust pH, heat, label, and sterilize laboratory media, reagents, and solutions per procedures.
• Operate autoclaves to sterilize media, containers, and waste materials.
• Prepare samples for microbiological, chemical, and sensory analysis; aseptic/non-aseptic techniques.
• Wash and sterilize laboratory glassware.
• Collect and safely transport contaminated materials for disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness of laboratory areas and perform routine safety checks.
• Perform temperature mapping of equipment and assist with validation.
• Conduct acid cleaning of digestive vessels and centrifuge tubes.
• Perform daily and weekly monitoring checks of deionized water systems.
