Job summary

OLH Technical Services, a Federal Government Contractor, seeks a Laboratory Support Technician to join our Alameda, CA team. You will follow laboratory quality, safety, and SOPs, handle materials, equipment, and samples, and assist with media preparation and sterilization.

Responsibilities include autoclave operation, sample prep for analyses, glassware washing and sterilization, waste disposal, and routine safety checks.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must be able to pass a Public Trust background check.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a laboratory, industrial, custodial, or similar environment.
• Ability to follow written procedures and safety protocols.
• Ability to lift 25–30 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• OSHA 10-hour General Industry certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory quality, safety, and SOPs.
• Handle laboratory materials, equipment, and samples.
• Weigh, mix, adjust pH, heat, label, and sterilize media, reagents, and solutions.
• Operate autoclaves to sterilize materials.
• Prepare samples for microbiological, chemical, and sensory analysis.
• Wash and sterilize laboratory glassware.
• Collect and safely transport contaminated materials for disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness and perform safety checks in laboratory areas.
• Conduct temperature mapping and assist with equipment verification.
• Conduct acid cleaning of vessels and centrifuge tubes.
