Job summary

University Hospitals in Elyria is seeking a part-time Laboratory Support Technician/Phlebotomist to assist with specimen procurement and processing. The role includes venipuncture, data entry, and adherence to PHI policies.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, with formal phlebotomy or medical assistant training preferred, and CPT certification is desirable upon hire. This is a part-time 20-hour-per-week day-shift position with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Equivalen t / GED required.
• Formal phlebotomy or medical assistant training preferred.
• Less than 1 year entry level required.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification preferred upon hire.

Laboratory Support Technician/Phlebotomist Elyria Part Time Days - ( 2600080C )

Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.

• Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
• Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy
• Processes specimens for laboratory testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
• Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
• Part time 20 hours per week.
• Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.
• This is the day shift: 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

• Other Accredited Program: Formal Training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program preferred.
