Job summary

GEL Laboratories, LLC, an affiliate of The GEL Group, Inc., is looking for a Laboratory Support Technician to join our Charleston, SC office and support radiochemistry laboratory activities.

You will perform preparatory tasks, manage labware and samples, operate basic instruments, and follow LIMS-guided workflows, all while upholding GEL’s safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Associate degree preferred in Chemistry or Biology.
  • Prior laboratory experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic math and computer skills; willingness to learn M365 and LIMS.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Prepares lab ware for procedures.
  • Prepares containers for sampling with proper preservation and shipping protocols.
  • Performs sample management and disposal operations.
  • Performs standard operating procedures (e.g. aliquoting and digestions).
  • Operates basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Use the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to prioritize laboratory production workflow.
  • Follows written and verbal instructions.
  • Assist with supplies, balance, and pipette checks.
  • Demonstrate and support GEL core values.

About the role

GEL Laboratories, LLC, an affiliate of The GEL Group, Inc., is looking for a Laboratory Support Technician to join our team of professionals in our Charleston, SC office to support various laboratory functions. As a Laboratory Support Technician you are responsible for conducting a variety of preparatory activities to support various analytical testing in the radiochemistry laboratory.

What you'll do

Working Environment & Physical Demands

This position requires working in a busy production laboratory, safely processing samples from around the world. Safety is a priority, and negligence is not tolerated. Safety equipment is provided, and use is mandatory.
