LCA Lab. Corp. of America is seeking a Lab Supervisor for their San Diego facility. This role requires oversight of laboratory operations during the second shift, ensuring accurate test performance, staff training, and compliance with regulations.

Job Overview

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Supervisor to join our team in San Diego, CA. Work Schedule: 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 11:30pm. Pay Range: $100,000 - $165,000 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day‑to‑day operations of the laboratory department.
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results reported in a timely manner.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department.
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage.
• Ensure all shifts in the department are properly staffed.
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary.
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained through Quality Control.
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents.
• Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations.
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development.
• Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations.
• Ensure all work is in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Administer and manage policies and procedures.
• Process and maintain payroll and personnel files.
• Perform administrative duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Four or more years of experience as a Technologist/Technician.
• CA State CLS license required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or prior Labcorp experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification.

Additional Job Standards

• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations.
• Previous supervisor/leadership experience.
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Comfortable making decisions in a changing environment.
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
• Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
